Are you ready to join us on the Gospel Journey? We're about to honestly examine some of life's biggest questions… including… Is there evidence that Jesus REALLY is the Son of God?
The "Case For Christ" presents the evidence discovered, by a former atheist during his two-year journey from atheism to faith as he sought to prove the claims of Christianity false. This compelling course features Lee Strobel and 10 other scholars who offer clear evidence that the gospel accounts are true.
Based on the best-selling book by the same name, a seasoned journalist chases down the biggest story in history.
The Project: Determine if there's credible evidence that Jesus really is the Son of God.
The Reporter: Lee Strobel, educated at Yale Law School, award-winning former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune-with a background of atheism.
The Experts: A dozen scholars, with doctorates from Cambridge, Princeton, Brandeis, and other top-flight institutions, who are recognized authorities on Jesus.
The Story: Retracing his own spiritual journey, Strobel cross-examines the experts with tough, point-blank questions: How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence exist for Jesus outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual historical event?
Brace yourself for our "Gospel Journey" … because examining all of this evidence will be like reading a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure.
What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ?

WHAT IS AWANA
Awana is part of our Sunday evening Generations ministry which takes place October through April. Feel free to join at any time. Awana is a Bible-centered program for children age 3 years through 6th grade that focuses on learning and memorizing God's Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, the purpose of Awana is to support parents in providing consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
Parents: God has placed the primary responsibility for discipling children on you so we highly encourage parents who have children in Awana to be involved by serving themselves in this disciple making ministry!
Awana Clubs at VBC include:
Cubbies (3 & 4-year-olds)
Cubbies is fun with a purpose to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards, and other activities are part of exciting weekly lessons.
*Cubbies must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2011 and be potty trained.
Sparks (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
Sparks club combines learning with fun to create an atmosphere of excitement that takes kids deeper in to God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Truth & Training (3rd - 6th Grade)
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach kids the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow ... today.

This class is on a mission to reclaim the mind for Christ by equipping people to understand and articulate the Christian faith. The Theology Program is a program of Christian theology created with all believers in mind. TTP seeks to give people who may never have the time, ability, or circumstances that allow them to study, the great and rich Christian heritage of truth. Here, you will learn theology historically, biblically, and irenically (in a peaceful manner). The contents of TTP are created from a broadly evangelical perspective, engaging other traditions in a persuasive yet gracious manner. In short, we seek to help people think theologically by understanding what they believe and why they believe it. We believe that all people are created in the image of God and therefore able and desirous to engage in a deep level of theological training. TTP courses are designed with you in mind, walking you step by step through this comprehensive program.
Nursery and Awana are offered during this class.

Every Sunday, 5:45 PM - 7:15 PM

Get the Word Out is an intensive Bible study program developed by Betsy Corning (the author of the Entrusted With a Child’s Heart” study we’ve done the past several years). It grew out of her desire to create a personal devotional style for life. Get the Word Out will help move believers from milk to maturity through the "constant use" of God's Word. Reading the Scriptures chronologically will make the history of the Bible come alive as additional study helps are provided for further clarity. A color-coding system is incorporated, as well as a system to develop themes, concordances, personal applications and convictions.
This study does not require a lot of homework, you could complete this in 10-20 minutes per day - or longer if you have the time to dedicate to it.
Every Sunday, 5:45 PM - 7:15 PM, from 01/29/2012 to 05/27/2012

Raising children is a tough challenge in today's world. Peers and pop culture exert a never-ending pressure on kids. Parents often feel helpless, as every godly principle they teach their children seems to be contradicted by the corrupt principles of this defective world.
The good news is, God has a plan for effectively raising your children and you can learn from it.
In this Equipping-U clas, you will learn to help your children be internally motivated instead of relying on parental prompters in four areas: Doing what’s right, Dealing with wrongs, Being honest, and Caring about others. We'll teach you about the biblical concept of the conscience and encourage its development.
8 Weeks • 21 Parenting Strategies • Rooted in Theology • Amazingly Practical • You’ll see change in 30 days whether your child is 3 or 18
