SHINE VBS Friday

Posted by Deb Nieter on

This has been the grooviest VBS Village Bible Church has ever had!

We topped the week with another Bible adventure. Today we learned abut preaching the Word in preparation for the day Jesus returns.

God’s kingdom is real, but we aren’t able to see it yet. Paul tells us in the Bible that we should live expecting to see God’s Kingdom soon. Being prepared means we should be preaching the Word and telling others about Jesus. It also means encouraging others to live for Him. Paul also warned people about what would happen if they didn’t follow God.

Paul put in the hard work and his life was an offering back to God because he had done what God wanted him to do. Paul was definitely a glory giver. Because of this he was prepared to see Jesus.

In Groovy Missions, Lisa O’Brien told us about her job in Uganda. She works with Amagara Bible Institute of Discipleship and Evangelism (ABIDE). Her main job is to teach the Bible to young adults who have finished high school. Her students also learn life lessons such as sewing, and baking.

Speaking of baking, the kitchen crew baked us some delicious cupcakes that we had before breaking it down on the drums!

We practiced our singing and drumming for church on Sunday. We hope you can join us at the 10:45 service. Prepare to be blown away!

Don’t forget, the fun isn’t over yet! Jump in on the fun at Phillips Park Aquatic Center on Saturday August 2 for the Splash Bash. The Bash begins at 7pm and goes until 9pm. Don’t worry if you forgot to purchase a ticket this week. They’ll be sold at the door, so you can invite even more friends!

Shout out to the boys for donating the most money for Juna Amagara Ministries. Altogether, we raised over $700 for our friends in Uganda. Visit amagara.org to follow God’s work in the lives of students and missionaries in Uganda.

Thanks for rockin’ out with us this week!

**The products that ABIDE students make can be purchased from Lisa O’Brien at her table in the foyer of Village Bible Church. All proceeds will be returned to ABIDE.
