2018-2019 Village Kids Classes Resume
September 2, 8:00am
We know that there is a short span of time in which children form their identities. Everything about a child is incredibly impressionable.
We strive to take every opportunity to encourage children to understand, internalize, and live out what the Bible says. Because the Bible is all about Jesus, that's our desire for the children of Village. We want them to grow up with Jesus as their identity.
After you enter the main door, go to your left towards our Family Life Center, and stop at our Village Kids Desk, one of our hosts will help you complete a registration form (contact information, birthdates, and grades for each child), print name tags for your children, and find their classrooms. On future Sunday, your family can check-in at any Village Kids kiosks.
Our nursery ministry seeks to provide a safe, God-centered atmosphere for the youngest members of our church family by our friendly team of background-checked volunteers. We welcome 2-month-olds through 2-year-olds while parents participate in the multitude of opportunities available.
If your child ever needs you while in the nursery, we'll contact you via our phone, our church pager system, or a nursery representative will locate you in the service.
We have a nursing room available during all worship services. The nursing room is next to the preschool registration station in the Village kids hallway. Ask a nursery volunteer or usher for directions. The worship service feed is conveniently shown on the TV!
This Christ-centered interactive time walks through a specific passage of Scripture, character study, or topic. Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities, and more.
Kids kindergarten through 5th grade are challenged to trust God, make wise choices and build lasting friendships.
On a typical morning, each child is greeted at their classroom by their leader. Kids participate in an activity meant to introduce the Bible story that we want kids to walk away with and remember that day. We then use costumes, props and characters from the Bible story - anything that makes the Bible come to life. We also carve out time each week for kids to sing and enjoy some music. Leaders then share how the day's bottom line can fit into each child's everyday life.
Our desire is to provide families the opportunity to worship together during the opening of the Sunday Worship Service. Parents can pick up their children immediately following the Bible School hour to sit with them for the first part of the service. Children will then be dismissed just before the sermon in the second service to go back to Children's Church. Teachers will meet their students in the foyer.
Children of any age are welcome in the sanctuary during worship services if they choose not to participate in our Village Kids ministries.
Awana is part of our Sunday evening Generations ministry which takes place September through May. Awana is a Bible-centered program for children age 3 years through 6th grade that focuses on learning and memorizing God's Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, the purpose of Awana is to support parents in providing consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
Cubbies is fun with a purpose to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards, and other activities are part of exciting weekly lessons. Cubbies must be 3 years old by September 1 and be potty-trained.
Sparks club combines learning with fun to create an atmosphere of excitement that takes kids deeper in to God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach kids the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow, today.
Bridge is our ministry for 4th and 5th grade students. During this important transitional stage in development, we want to provide a place for students to grow together and in their understanding of God's plan for their growth. Upcoming bridge events can be found below.
Each year we spend an unforgettable week together learning songs, playing games, creating crafts, eating snacks, making friends, and learning about God.
