The Mountains Declare the Glory of God

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths."... Isaiah 2:3b
The massive mountain in our view is named Tanalian, which means "Mountain that runs into the sea" in the native language.

Day of Worship

Sunday has been a day of rest as we await the arrival of the kids tomorrow. We joined the Port Alsworth Bible Church in worship this morning and the church was packed standing room only. Pastor James brought a sermon from Acts 17.

Saturday Staff Training

James and Sharon Walsh led the staff in a time of training on Saturday so that we would be ready to hit the ground running as soon as the teens arrived.

Very important message for Anne: CUBS WIN! Sunday's score was 3 - 1. And against my better judgement, I'll take about work for three words: Fax went through.
I'm praying for the safe arrival of the kids today and for you to be influential in their lives.

Anne, Glad you made it safe and sound. Looks beautiful. Remember what I told you about working with teens. Meet them where they are at and most importantly, show no fear!!
Have fun!

Hi there,
This is Amy. I'm a friend of Anne's. I'm not sure what happened, but my last 2 comment submissions didn't post, so here goes again...(crossing my fingers) 3rd time's a charm.
I'm glad everyone arrived safely. I hope you were able to get some rest & settled in before the kids arrived. I like the pictures so far & look forward to seeing more.
By the way, the Cubs lost Friday & Sat, but won on Sunday in Los Angeles before heading back to Wrigley to take on the Braves for a 3 game series starting on Tuesday.
Blessings, Amy Schrepfer

Hey Anne!
I had trouble posting comments too. So let me try for the 3rd time. I'm praying that the kids arrived safely and that you are influential in their lives this week (and beyond!) Can't wait to see more pictures and hear all about it. You cross my mind often during the day, so I'm firing off arrow prayers whenever I can.

Scott! I hope you are doing well up there. How far away from Ancorage are you? The family and myself will be saying prayers to help you on your mission. Take care!
