LEAVING LEGALISM
Mark 2:13-3:6
Leaving legalism involves:
1. Identifying the problem of legalism.
2. Understanding the places where legalism is found.
- Some include our:
- Engaging with sinners
- Exercising of spiritual disciplines
- Elevating of the Sabbath
3. Pursuing the path of victory in Christ.
- This involves:
- Pursuing heart change, not just conformity
- Being holy, not hypocritical
- Reaching out, not regulating righteousness
- Speaking intelligently, not ignorantly
- Standing strong, not setting stumbling blocks
- Teaching the truth, not personal tastes
Question to consider:
While they spell the same thing, one leads people to the Savior and the other one drives them away. Which Christ are you presenting?
