SLAYING OUR SHAME

John 21:1-25

 

1.  Shame is a result of our failures.

  • Through the life of Peter we see:
    • The place of failure
    • The pain of failure
    • The price of failure
  • Our failure involves our:
    • Choices
    • Companions
    • Consequences

 

2.  Shame is removed through the words of a faithful friend.

  • Jesus:
    • Found him
    • Fed him
    • Freed him

 

3.  Shame is reversed through an obedient future.

  • This reversal involves a future marked by:
    • Service
    • Surrender
    • Selflessness
