How is Your Customer Service?
1 Kings 18:1-20
1. Elijah's life of surrendered service
This service:
- Does what is required.
- Is reinforced by God's promises.
- Is responsive to every command.
2. Obadiah's secret life of service
Our text gives us reason to:
- Commend his service.
- He honored God.
- He hid the prophets.
- Criticize his service.
- His employment
- His excuses
3. Ahab's life of selfish service
This selfishness caused Ahab to:
- Fail miserably in his role.
- Fling accusations towards others.
- Forsake the commands of God.
Some guiding principles:
Review your life. Are you an:
- Elijah -- Remain steadfast in your obedience.
- Obadiah -- Renounce areas of compromise and begin to live consistently and publicly for Christ -- No matter the cost!
- Ahab -- Repent of your sins and stop blaming others. Return to God before it is too late!
