What to Do When Disaster Strikes
1 Kings 17:17-24
1. How people of the world respond. (vs 17-18)
A. They are surprised (vs 17)
B. They find someone to blame (vs 18)
C. They make the wrong assumptions (vs 18)
2. How people of faith respond. (vs 19-21)
A. They are confident in spite of circumstances.
1) Willing to receive injury (vs 19).
2) Willing to respond personally (vs 19)
3) Willing to risk credibility (vs 19)
B. They are devoted to God in prayer (vs 20-21)
1) Learn to be honest with God
2) Look past the circumstances
3) Leave it with God
3. How God responds (vs 22-24)
A. God answers faith-filled prayer
B. God vindicates his servant (vs 24)
C. God validates his word (vs 24)
