Elijah #3 (SG) - Out of the Frying Pan...and into the Fire!

Out of the Frying Pan...and into the Fire!

1 Kings 17:8-16

The forging of our faith involves:

God's fresh path of obedience.

This path should involve a fresh:

  • Command.
  • Challenge.
  • Comfort.

God's faithful promises amidst new obstacles.

These obstacles would cause:

  • Doubt in the widow.
  • A demand from the prophet.
  • A decision to be made.

God's fabulous provision that was anything but ordinary.

This provision was a reminder:

  • Of God's grace.
  • Of God's greatness.
  • To give God glory.

God's faith-forging principles that we must own as Christ's followers.

These involve the following:

  • God's leading is often surprising... Don't analyze it.
  • God's promises hinge on action... Get going.
  • God isn't just concerned with you... Reflect this affection for the nations.
  • God takes the little we have...and adds to it.
  • God's provisions are just enough... Appreciate them.
