We are advising people that they should invest in a homestudy. A homestudy is valid for 18 months. That way, families would be very nearly "paper ready" to move if and when these children come available. Also, if more groups of these children are relocated to the U.S., these families would be available to foster a child until such a time as that child might be legally available for adoption.
There are many unknowns at this time regarding what will happen to these vulnerable children, and it has been my hope that The Church would step forward and do just what you are proposing.
I will forward any information to you as I receive it and we hope to be posting information on our website www.projecthopeful.org
Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions regarding adoption in general or Haiti specifically and I will do my best to tell you what I can.
Blessings,
Traci
